How it works
From photos to verdict in under a minute — no account needed.
- 1
Snap the front and back
Take clear, well-lit photos of both sides of your card. Add an optional close-up of the holo, text or edge for extra precision.
- 2
AI checks it against the official print
The card is identified first — name, set and era — then every detail is compared with what an authentic print from that era should look like.
- 3
Get a clear verdict you can share
Likely authentic, suspicious or likely fake — with a confidence level, a criterion-by-criterion breakdown and a shareable report image.
A report, not just a yes or no
Every scan explains itself: what was checked, what passed, and how confident the analysis is.

How can I tell if my Pokémon card is fake?
The most reliable tells are the back texture (real cards have a subtly dotted “canvas” pattern), the fonts and kerning of the name and attack text, the holo pattern for the card’s era, color saturation, print centering and the copyright line. TCG Verdict checks all of these automatically from your photos and compares your card against the official print of the same card.
How accurate is the analysis?
The verdict is an advisory opinion based on your photos, with an explicit confidence level. Good, sharp photos of the front and back — plus an optional close-up — give the most reliable results. It does not replace a physical inspection or professional grading (PSA/CGC), but it catches the print errors most counterfeits show.
What happens to my photos?
Your photos are processed in memory for the duration of the analysis and are never stored. We keep no copy of your images and there is no photo history.
Is the first scan really free?
Yes. Your first scan includes the full result — verdict, confidence level, complete criterion breakdown and the shareable report image — with no account and no payment details required.
Which photos should I upload?
Two photos are required: the full front and the full back of the card, in sharp focus and even lighting. A third, optional close-up of the holo, text or card edge improves precision. iPhone HEIC photos are converted automatically.
How do scan packs work?
If you want to check more cards, packs start at $4.99 for 5 scans or $9.99 for 15 scans. Credits are tied to your email, never expire, and there is no subscription — you sign in with a magic link, no password needed.
